Mi Mi has been our day care provider since June of 2008. Previously, we were using another in-home day care. Our daughter was 10 months old at the time, and even though she could not speak, we could tell that she was very unhappy with our old daycare. She would cry everyday when we would drop her off. Because of this, we were very leery to go to another in-home daycare.

When we first met Mi Mi, we could tell that she was both a great parent to her own children and a great care provider for others. She cares much more about the quality of care that she can give to each child, and not about how many kids she can get paid for. I know that she will not accept kids who are out of control and whose own parents will not discipline them. This is because these children will be harmful to the other kids in the day care and she wants to make sure she can devote time to all of the kids equally, and not focus her time on children who are always misbehaving.

In Tokyo, I was an assistant teacher at a preschool. I assumed that in-home daycares were just a place for kids to play all day, however, Mi Mi schedules learning activities for all of the children, even my 10 month old! They have crafts, learn Japanese, and are disciplined. These were all important to us. She also gives us an hour-by-hour report of what our child does, so we know what she eats, when she is changed, naps, activities, etc. These are all things that we used to do in the official preschool in Japan!

Our baby still does not talk yet, but we can tell how excited she gets when we go to Cherry Blossom. As a parent, this is the best sign that Mi Mi is a great provider.”
