Ume Gumi (Infants)

Physical Development

Infants will daily engage in fine-motor skills, coordination of eyes, hands & entire body movement.

Blocks & Manipulatives

We will give the infants toys that are age appropriate to play and discover so they may exercise their brains.

Language & Speech

Constant exposure to Japanese speech & language. Playing simple games with them helps to get their attention and opportunity to grasp their minds to listen and use simple words. Songs, rhyming, Japanese folklore, books, Japanese educational programs and animations used.

Socialization

Participating in activities in large, medium and small size groups with either same or different ages.

Nurture & Grow

Individual attention is given to each infant with love and care. Holding, snuggling, and having a direct relationship in care taking and playing is important in their daily lives.

Sumire Gumi (1-2 years old)

Physical Development

We promote their interest in experimenting and discovering indoors and out, giving them a right balance of playtime and making sure they are in a safe environment to do so. By doing this they learn to improve their gross motor skills and hand/eye coordination.

Manipulative & Blocks

Giving them the age approperiate toys to help in learning how their world works is essential, therefore we provide activities to stimulate their little brains and assist in learning through fun games about matching, sorting, colors and counting.

Language & Speech

Exposing them to Japanese speech & language through out the day and instructing in Japanese. Not only do we help assist in early literacy in English we do it as well in Japanese. Literacy materials, songs, rhyming, Japanese folklore, books, word games, Japanese educational programs and animations are used. Children develop a rich vocabulary as they are exposed to a variety of daily read-alouds and conversations which enables your child to begin building a solid foundation in language and communication.

Creativity

Writing, drawing, cutting, gluing and many other fine motor skills will be improved upon. This is an opportunity for the children to express themselves through hundreds of arts & crafts we have implemented in our daily lesson plans.

Socialization

We have large, medium and small sized groups when playing and instructing. Toddlers learn to play with friends by incorporating teamwork. We also encourage individuals to develop self-help skills and the ability to negotiate his or her environment independently.

Cognitive Development

Little ones will get to understand cause and effect by hands on science experiments. Problem solving skills are used in speaking another language and help with memory and number sense. We strive to make it a fun teaching environment so that they grow up to love learning!

Sakura Gumi (3-5 years old)

Physical Development

These little active learners will continue to improve upon their coordination as we daily have physical excercise outdoors and practice their abilities to jump, run, play catch, kick and more.

Language & Speech

We will assist not only in helping your child recognize Hiragana and katakana, but say them and have them say the appropriate words back to each other or teachers. They will also learn the Japanese manners in daily activities and will develop a sence of understanding of the culture better. Songs, rhyming, Japanese folklore, books, japanese educational programs and animations used.

Math, Science & Nature

In English & Japanese we will help them learn to count, use a tubbing system, sorting, grouping, adding and subtracting. Science & Nature will be explored with hands on activities, experiments and visual aides to demonstrate how their world works. Blocks, manipulatives, puzzles and many games are utilized.

Socialization

Participation in large, medium and small group sizes. Children learn to develop skills of solving problems on their own and with others.

Daily Schedule - 　日本語は下にあります。　

7:00-9:00 Arrival, breakfast, free choice. Infants on demand.

9:00-10:30 All ages participate in Bible story, singing, reading, music, and movement. Arts & Crafts. Active learning in Japanese & English.

Preschool age will be learning from books, flashcards, chalkboard, puzzles, assignment worksheets.

Toddlers age will have coloring, games, books, puzzles.

Infants have free exploration on the floor for physical stimulation. Tummy time, verbal communication & infant appropriate toys.

10:30-11:30 Free choice outside for preschool & toddlers. Learn gross motor skills, social development and interaction. Infants may be held, in bouncer or excersaucer.

11:30-12:30 Lunch for toddlers first. Preschool age will eat next. Infants on demand. Wash hands & bathroom breaks.

12:30-3:00 Read a Japanese story book, nap time & quiet activities. Infants on demand.

3:00-3:30 Snack.

3:30-5:30 Free choice for all ages. Japanese programs, songs, puzzles, games, drawing, origami. Pickup time.

 

一日のスケジュール

7:00-9:00　朝食、自由時間、

9:00-10:30　すべての生徒が聖書を読み歌い学ぶアート＆クラフト、日本語と英語のお勉強、２〜６才児 は読書、フラッシュカード、パズル、お勉強ドリルなど。１〜２才児は塗り絵、ゲーム、本、パズルなど、
オムツのチェックは２時間おき致します。乳児は自由にのびのびと個性を活かせるようにお手伝い いたします。

10:30-11:30 自由時間、年令別にお庭での外遊び・・・

11:30-12:30 昼食、乳児、幼児の順番ではじめます。手を洗いトイレと休み時間。

12:30-3:00 日本の絵本などを読み、お昼寝

3:00-3:30 おやつ

3:30-5:30 自由時間、すべての生徒が日本のプログラム、歌、
パズルゲーム、塗り絵、折り紙などで遊ぶ。　おむかい。
